There's no doubt about it.  Being a solopreneur is challenging.  You have to do so many tasks, marketing, sales, administration, production etc.

Trying to do it all in one big lump can be overwhelming and results in you doing none of it well. Or perhaps you find yourself doing the things you enjoy to the detriment of the things that really need to be done to be profitable. For many small business owners sales and marketing falls into that category.

The obvious solution is hiring staff or outsourcing the work but for many solopreneurs that’s just not realistic when they are new in business or struggling financially. And sales and marketing is almost certainly not be something you should be outsourcing anyway.

What are the SMART Business Makeover Awards?

The idea all started with some fabulous door prizes donated for an event.. all the people at the event agreed… Why not take the door prizes and instead of giving them away on the basis of random chance.. Why not give them away to people who really deserve some Good Karma. Then like Topsy, the idea grew.

Over the past two months we’ve been taking nominations from the small business community for businesses that you think deserve to be the winners of the SMART Business Makeover Award.
